The Shock Sensor serves a variety of functions: it has two bult in reed switches and may detect openings and closings (like a door/window sensor); it may also be connected to a variety of shock detectors. There is a limit of five detectors (of any kind) per shock sensor, and one external reed switch. The sensitivity of the detectors can be adjusted by using the built-in ajustment pot on the shock sensor. Shock Sensors send a signal to the CPU every 64 minutes. If the CPU does not her a supervisory signal within 12 hours a supervisory report will be sent to the Central Station. The sensor uses a 3.6 volt lithium battery which should last 5-8 years under normal conditions. If the battery voltage goes low a trouble report will be sent to the Central Station. If the battery fails, a supervisory indication will be detected and reported by the CPU
